    Cherry Street Bridge Construction

    The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that the Cherry Street bridge over the Milwaukee River will see traffic lane reductions and periodic full closures, as crews install bicycle plating beginning Monday, September 17, 2018. The bridge is scheduled to re-open entirely after October 12, 2018, weather permitting.

    The construction schedule will impact traffic over the bridge as follows:

    Week of September 17:  Traffic limited to one lane in each direction.
    + There could be delays.

    Week of September 24: Bridge will be closed entirely to traffic during the day beginning at 6:30 a.m. and re-opening to traffic later in the day by 3:00 p.m.
    + Downtown Runs AM: drop off will be as close as WCCE can get to Water & Cherry Street.
    + Downtown Runs 13 and 16: due to Cherry Street Bridge Closure, Rivercenter & Cherry Street stop unavailable ALL WEEK. Alternate stop will be Water & State Street (northwest corner).

    Weeks of October 1 and 8:  Traffic limited to one lane in each direction. 
    + There could be delays.
