Emergency Ride Home

The Emergency Ride Home program is available free to all WCCE commuters. In the case of an employee or family member’s illness or medical emergency, a person can receive a taxi ride, free of charge, through the Washington County Commuter Express.

Although rarely used, the Emergency Ride Home program puts the commuter’s mind at ease in case a special need arises at a time during the workday when the WCCE bus route is not operating and the commuter needs to return home.

THE EMERGENCY RIDE PROGRAM IS PROVIDED STRICTLY TO WCCE COMMUTERS. IF THE PROGRAM PRIVILEGES ARE ABUSED, THE PROGRAM WILL BE RESTRICTED OR ELIMINATED.

When an illness or medical emergency occurs, affecting either the employee or an immediate family member, commuters should:

  • Call the Washington County Taxi Service at 1-888-285-TAXI (8294).
  • Identify yourself as a commuter on the WCCE and request an Emergency Ride.
  • Once the taxi vehicle has arrived to provide transportation, you will be requested to fill out a form for record-keeping purposes.

If you need further assistance or clarification regarding the Emergency Ride Home program, please call Riteway Bus Service 1-888-675-WCCE (9223).
